Set up Civil Litigation Matter

Matter Tags in LiraDocs are an effective way to further categorize and organize your civil litigation matters. They help you narrow down the type of case you’re working on and highlight important details for better tracking and reporting.

Examples of Civil Litigation Matter Tags

• Small Claims
• Breach of Contract
• Defamation
• Fraud
• Trespass
• Police Brutality
• Jury Trial
• Pro Bono

These tags allow you to specify the nature of the matter, making it easier to search, filter, and track.

How to Assign or Edit Matter Tags

1. In an Open Matter:
   • Click the + button at the top left of the matter screen.
   • Add either:
     1. Staff Tags (used internally for team organization).
     2. Custom Tags (for specific case types or categories).
2. Edit Tags:
   • If you need to add or remove tags, click the Edit Tags link within the matter to access the Matter Configuration window.
   • You can add additional default tags, as needed.
3. To Organize by Tags on the Home Screen:
   • Use the View option to Group by Tag and display your matters in a more organized manner, categorized by the tags you’ve assigned.
