Estate Planning Estate Details

LiraDocs provides a comprehensive system for managing Estate Details within Estate Planning matters. Here’s a breakdown of key features for tracking Executors, Trustees, and other essential parties in an estate.

1️⃣ Estate Details Overview

In Estate Planning Matter Types, use the Estate Details section to manage the following roles:
📌 Executor
📌 Trustee
📌 Family Members
📌 Guardians
📌 Agents for Property and Health

The Estate Details window may have additional tabs depending on the jurisdiction or custom setup.

2️⃣ Representing Couples

When representing couples in an estate plan, you will need to maintain separate Estate Details for each client:
📌 Add Estate Details for Client 1: Enter all relevant information for the first client.
📌 Duplicate Estate Details for Client 2: Right-click on Client 1 and select Duplicate Estate Details. This is useful if both clients share similar information (e.g., children, common assets).
📌 Fill Out Both Estate Details: For document automation purposes, both Estate Details 1 (Client 1) and Estate Details 2 (Client 2) need to be completed. You can adjust roles as necessary (e.g., Executor for Client 1 might be Client 2 in Estate Details 2).

3️⃣ Trusts

When adding a Trust to the estate:
📌 Indicate Trust on Contact Card: Ensure the Trust is listed accurately, as it should appear on official documents.
📌 Trust Name Format: Enter the trust name exactly how you want it displayed (e.g., The Living Trust of [Name] dated [Date]).

4️⃣ Trustees

If you’re managing Trustees for a trust:
📌 Emailing Trustees: If you need to communicate with Trustees, ensure their information is added on both the Trust Contact Card and in the Estate Details section.
📌 Non-Email Communication: If email communication isn’t needed, entering their information just in the Estate Details section is sufficient.
