Enable the LiraDocs Billing Integration

To integrate your billing system with LiraDocs, follow these steps after completing the final billing cycle with your previous program:


Step 1: Activate the Integration

  1. Navigate to Time & Billing Settings in the LiraDocs Settings.
  2. Select Enable integration of Time & Expenses.
  3. Set your preferred billing units for rounding entries.
  4. Make sure LiraDocs Billing is selected under Billing Integrations.
  5. Click the Save button to apply your changes.

Step 2: Auto-Save Finalized Invoices

Firm owners can enable the option to auto-save finalized invoices from LiraDocs Billing directly to the corresponding matter.

  1. In Billing Integrations, check Auto-save Billing-related PDF documents to a Matter.
  2. Once enabled, all finalized invoices will be saved in the Billing > Invoices matter folder.
  3. If a finalized invoice is edited or deleted, it will be removed from the matter.
  4. Click Save to apply the changes.

Step 3: Review Staff AutoTime Settings and Billing Rates

To ensure your firm’s needs are met, review and enable your staff’s AutoTime preferences and billing rates:

  1. Navigate to your AutoTime Settings (available for Prosper+ or Grow with the AutoTime add-on).
  2. Review your staff’s rates and ensure they are correct for your firm’s billing practices.
  3. Click Save after adjusting the settings.

Step 4: Configure Billing Settings

  1. Select the Billing button to log into the LiraDocs Web App.
  2. The app will open in your browser. Enter your LiraDocs username and password.
    • Note: Make sure you are using Google Chrome for LiraDocs Billing. If Chrome is not your default browser, open Chrome and navigate to app.liradocs.com.
  3. Review and adjust your LiraDocs Billing Settings to align with your firm’s preferences.
  4. Save any changes.

Step 5: Configure Additional Settings

Additional settings for LiraDocs Billing can be accessed through the gear icon on any matter:

  1. Features like Evergreen Retainer, Interest, and Payment Plans may require additional configuration.
  2. Review these settings and make necessary adjustments in the Billing Settings to fully utilize these features.
