LiraDocs is a powerful yet intuitive platform designed to support your legal practice from start to finish.
Navigating LiraDocs
Once you log into LiraDocs, accessing everything you need from the home screen is simple.
Main Navigation Tabs:
- File, LiraDocs, Client Portal, Time & Expenses, Firm Insights, Support
Action Bar:
- Dashboard, Matters, Contacts, Calendar, Tasks, Activity, Reports
Home Screen Features:

- Search
Everything you need for your practice is a click away:
- File: Access LiraDocs Settings, Support, Log Out, or Exit LiraDocs.
- LiraDocs: Your default home screen view when logged in.
- Client Portal: LiraDocs' secure messaging and file-sharing feature. Use the Client Portal to interact with clients, third parties, or communicate internally.
- Time & Expenses: Create, review, and edit Time, Fee, and Expense entries across all Matters.
- Firm Insights: A powerful business intelligence feature to help manage the business side of your law firm. Gain insights into business trends, referral sources, matter profitability, and staff performance. This feature is available only to users designated as Firm Admin.
- Support: Quickly access Support contact details, create tickets, and view Release Notes and Training resources.
LiraDocs' Action Bar is your central hub for taking quick actions within the platform. The New Matter button is the most frequently used feature.
You can also quickly create:
- Prospects (potential clients)
- Contacts
- Calendar Events
- Tasks
However, the best practice is to create these actions within the appropriate Matter for better organization and tracking.
The Views section provides quick navigation to key areas of LiraDocs, allowing you to manage your legal practice efficiently.
You can quickly access:
- Dashboard – Your customizable home screen for tracking key activities.
- Matters – View and manage all active cases.
- Prospects – Manage potential clients before converting them into Matters.
- Contacts – Store and access client and third-party contact details.
- Calendar – Schedule and track important events and deadlines.
- Tasks – Stay on top of to-dos related to Matters.
- Activity – Keep track of all actions and workflows within LiraDocs.
- Reports – Generate and review key data summaries for business insights.
By default, LiraDocs displays all Open Matters in the center panel. Critical information, such as the client's name, matter type, internal reference number, and more, are organized under column headers for easy reference.
Navigating the Matters List:
- Column Headers – Key details about each Matter are displayed for quick reference.
- Status Filters – Use the statuses menu in the upper-right corner to filter Matters based on their progress or type.
- Pagination – LiraDocs paginates the Matter List for optimized performance. Use the page numbers at the bottom to navigate through multiple pages.
- Folders & Recent Matters – On the left panel, you’ll find categorized folders to quickly access specific Matter types and your five most recently accessed Matters.
For further customization, additional filters can be applied to refine your Matter view.
The Daily Digest provides a centralized overview of everything scheduled for the day, including:
- Calendar Events
- Phone Messages
- Tasks
Key Features:
- Quickly review what needs to be accomplished today.
- View other staff members' Daily Digests.
- Jump to other days to plan ahead.
To ensure you never miss important updates, check your LiraDocs Settings under Notifications to enable daily email reminders for your Daily Digest.
